Did you only book a Course?

If you only booked the language course and you have independent accommodation in Malta, simply arrive at the School on Monday morning at 08:15, and our staff will welcome you at the reception.

Did you book Course + Host Family?

If you booked a language course and accommodation with one of our Host Families, make sure that you have informed your agent or Eurocentres Malta about your landing time in Malta.

Ideally, keep the School’s emergency number and the Host Family’s phone number at hand, just in case you have any problems or delays with your flight. Your Host Family will be waiting for you at their home where they will meet and greet you upon your arrival and make sure that you settle in.

Your Host Family will also show you and explain the best way to get to the school on Monday morning. We advise that you arrive at School by no later than 08:15, where you will be welcomed at the reception by our staff.

Did you book Course + Apartment + Taxi?

If you have booked your language course and accommodation in one of our apartments, airport transfers are compulsory. Our driver will be waiting for you at the arrivals gate at Malta International Airport (the only airport in Malta) right after the exit sliding doors.

Our representative will be holding a sign showing your name and surname. Make sure you inform your agent or the School about your landing time in Malta (flight details will be requested beforehand). You should ensure that you have the Airport Transfer Voucher printed just in case you need to contact the Transport Department. Your driver will accompany you to your apartment and hand you your welcome pack together with your apartment keys. We ensure that your apartment will only be a short walking distance from school, typically not more than 10-15 minutes away.

If you arrive on a Saturday or on a Sunday, we suggest that you take a quick walk around the neighbourhood to locate the school, so that getting to the school on time on Monday morning (08:15) will be easier.

Your First Day at School

How will I find my way to school on the first day?

We recommend that you book an airport transfer to your accommodation through the school, so that our driver will be able to meet you at the airport and present you with a useful Welcome Pack containing a detailed map of the area with the location of the school clearly marked. We also offer 24/7 telephone assistance should you need any additional help in finding your way.

If you are staying with a host family, they will be able to point out the best way to the school. Our accommodation alternatives are all placed close to the school.  Most accommodation options are between 10-15 minutes on foot. Click here for directions via Google maps.

What should I bring to school?

We provide you with all the course materials you will need; all you have to bring with you is a pen and some paper or a notebook to write in.

Can I use the internet at school? Is there Wi-Fi? How much does it cost?

All the classrooms, common areas and garden have Wi-Fi access.  You can use the Internet at any time while you’re at school and it’s FREE! We also have a number of computers for students to use during their break times and also after their lessons.

Do I need to take a placement test?

Yes, all students need to complete a placement test before starting the course as we need an accurate indication of your level. Upon booking, students will be given the login details to our online platform: my.Eurocentres. Ideally, students would access this platform and take the test whilst they are still at home. This will save them a lot of time on their first day as they would only require a short written assessment and interview with our Academic Manager and may then join their class immediately.

If in any case a student does not manage to take the test before the first day at Eurocentres Malta, this is still not a problem. We recommend that you arrive at 08:15 on your first day so that the team will guide you on how to take the test at school.

Assessment continues throughout your first day, as your teacher will assess your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills at the start of your course. We aim to place all students accurately by the end of the first day, and we reserve the right to place students in a level we believe accurately reflects their true ability. However, please let us know if you do not feel comfortable in the class level you have been placed in during your first day or even throughout your study weeks.
